Cranberry Marsh is also located here and boasts a 600-acre wildlife sanctuary a few kilometers south of the village, where it is houses over 90 species of birds as well as beaver, otter, moose and deer.

Valemount is best known for its winter activities. Visitors can explore hundreds of kilometers of snowmobile trails or create their own tracks heli skiing through fresh powder.
